Sunday Yoga: Thoughts on "Checking In"

Hello loves, just sharing a photo that I snapped the other day on my way back from yoga class. After taking my first yoga class in the UK, I feel really centered again. It's no secret that yoga is good for you in so many ways. I know many people who are advanced enough to just practice yoga routines out of their head, but after five years of doing yoga, I still don't feel confident enough do practice on my own. For the past six months I've just been doing yoga videos from YouTube on and off, and this may be great for anyone, but after going to class on Sunday I was reminded how lovely it is to "check in" once and a while.

Now, what do I mean by "check in"? Let me explain. I have started to realize that no matter how much you love something, it's great to love it on your own, but it's even better with people. Whatever you do in your life, make sure every so often to check in, to express yourself, and to share your passions with others. It's great to put yourself back into the world. So often we tell ourselves that we don't have enough time, we'll just stay at home. I sure could save myself the £3. But there's something I gain from that experience, even as silly as a yoga class, that is completely worth it, at least just once a week or every once in a while.

For me, that yoga class was brilliant. I got up at 8:30 on a Sunday (which is RARE). I took a walk over to the gym (I don't leisurely stroll anywhere). The best part of it all was having a sunny spring view of the neighboring park through a floor-to-ceiling wall. You just can't beat doing yoga while taking in a gorgeous, peaceful, green view. It was absolutely serene in a way that I don't get from home practice.

Moral of the story: yoga is great, I highly recommend trying it if you haven't already. And if you're passionate about something, don't forget to check in every once and a while to connect with other people and your passion in a new way.
